Baseball Recap: Erath Comes Up Short

Erath was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 7-1 to the North Vermilion Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 on Friday.

Seth Leger put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Leger was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in doubles.

Erath's loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for North Vermilion, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

While Erath had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
