Softball Game Preview: Mt. Baker Mountaineers vs. Bellingham Bayhawks

The Mt. Baker Mountaineers will face off against the Bellingham Bayhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Baker will be strutting in after a victory while Bellingham will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Mt. Baker earned a 9-4 win over Burlington-Edison.

Meanwhile, Bellingham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to Lakewood, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Bellingham's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Mt. Baker, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Mt. Baker took their victory against Bellingham in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 22-0 score. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Bayhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
