After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mount Dora Christian Academy, Mount Dora was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the South Lake Eagles 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Hurricanes: when they faced off against the Eagles back in February, they had to take a 8-4 loss.

KALEIGH CASEY spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on PEYTON KOLVA, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. RAYA VEDDER was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Mount Dora's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for South Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Dora will square off against Lake Weir at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Lake, they will take on Tavares at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
