Soccer Game Preview: Ridgeview vs. Abingdon

Ridgeview is 0-10 against Abingdon since May of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wolfpack will challenge the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. Ridgeview has given up an average of 6.2 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Ridgeview's offense. They came up short against Gate City on Friday, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Ridgeview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Gate City are ranked 53rd).

Meanwhile, Abingdon kept a clean sheet against Graham on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the G-Men, sneaking past 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for Abingdon.

Ridgeview's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Abingdon, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Ridgeview might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Abingdon in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Wolfpack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
