Volleyball Recap: Magnolia Science Academy Carson Takes a Loss

After flying high against TEACH Tech Charter last Wednesday, Magnolia Science Academy Carson came back down to earth. The Vipers fell 3-1 to the South LA College Prep Knights on Monday. While the Vipers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 25-20 in the first set.

Magnolia Science Academy Carson started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 26-24, 25-12, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Magnolia Science Academy Carson still got an impressive performance from KHALIYAH BRYANT, who had nine kills and two aces. BRYANT is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season.

Magnolia Science Academy Carson's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-4. As for South LA College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Magnolia Science Academy Carson will be playing at home against Simon Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South LA College Prep, they will venture away from home to take on Varsity Opponent at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
