Basketball Recap: Dirigo Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Dirigo won the last time they faced Traip and things went their way on Saturday too. The Dirigo Cougars came out on top against the Traip Rangers by a score of 43-30. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Dirigo found their leader in sophomore Abigail Luczynski, who posted 20 points and seven rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for Luczynski. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Ni?o, who put up four points along with five boards and five steals.

Dirigo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Dirigo pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Traip, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Dirigo will venture away from home to take on Oak Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Dirigo is facing Oak Hill at the right time seeing as Oak Hill is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Traip, they will welcome Waynflete at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
