Baseball Recap: Hendrick Hudson Comes Up Short

Hendrick Hudson extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-15 in the process. They came up short against the Mahopac Wolf Pac, falling 10-2. The Sailors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolf Pac from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Mahopac, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

For Mahopac's part, Anthony Eppolito made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Eppolito was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Eppolito wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Eckstein, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Those RBI were Eckstein's first of the season. Vince Cataldo was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Hendrick Hudson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mahopac, they will be playing at home against Arlington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Admirals will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wolf Pac surely won't give up without a fight.
