Softball Recap: Scripps Ranch Snags 12th Win in Last 15 Games

Scripps Ranch barely beat Clairemont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Chieftains on Thursday. Considering the Falcons have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Scripps Ranch got a massive performance out of Brooke Griffin, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Griffin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Toth, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base.

Scripps Ranch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clairemont only posted an OBP of .300.

Scripps Ranch has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Clairemont, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

As of now, neither Scripps Ranch nor the Chieftains have any future games scheduled.
