Basketball Recap: Antonito Drops Season-High Score on Lake City Community

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Antonito). They enjoyed a cozy 43-25 victory over the Lake City Community 14ers on Friday. The Trojans didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Shyanne Martinez went supernova for Antonito, going 10-for-17 on her way to 20 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Destanaya Quintana, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Antonito smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Several 14ers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Hardy, who scored nine points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Hardy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Rowan McNeese was another key player, putting up seven points and ten rebounds.

Antonito's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-11. As for Lake City Community, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Antonito didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-16 defeat against Sangre de Cristo on the 15th. As for Lake City Community, they have also already played their next game, a 63-15 loss against Centennial on the 15th.
