Softball Recap: Rim of the World Takes a Loss

Rim of the World extended their losing streak to 11 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-13-1 in the process. They fell 20-16 to the Arroyo Valley Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-0 loss two weeks ago.

As for Arroyo Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8-2 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Arroyo Valley's part, Amy Mendoza was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Those five hits gave Mendoza a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aileen Nava, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Rim of the World has already played their next contest, a 26-6 loss against Fontana on the 7th. As for Arroyo Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-7 win against Notre Dame on the 7th.
