The St. Agnes Aggies will take on the New Life Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, St. Agnes turned things around against St. Croix Prep on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Lions. With that win, the Aggies brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Danny Plamann made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Greg Patros and Josh Lopez did most of the damage at the plate: Patros went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Lopez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Patros has posted since back in May of 2024. James Steiner also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for New Life Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Liberty Classical Academy on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-4 victory.
Noah Hahn was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Sam Kowalski, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
St. Agnes' win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for New Life Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Agnes has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like New Life Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Agnes beat New Life Academy 4-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Aggies repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
