Football Recap: L'Anse Creuse Takes a Loss

L'Anse Creuse lost against Grosse Pointe South back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lancers came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 29-7. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 29th).

Grosse Pointe South was led to victory by Sam Rouleau and Charlie Michelotti. Rouleau rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, while Michelotti gained 166 total yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Michelotti a new career-high in rushing yards (131).

L'Anse Creuse's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Grosse Pointe South, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, L'Anse Creuse will take on Utica at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grosse Pointe South, they will head out on the road to face off against Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
