Mead took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Fairview, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mavericks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Knights 8-7. This was payback for the Mavericks, who suffered a 9-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Tucker Boston looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ryan St Aubin was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Stryker Leick, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Mead was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

Mead's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Fairview, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.

Mead has already played their next matchup, an 11-5 win against Timnath on the 2nd. As for Fairview, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Horizon at 4:30 p.m.
