Basketball Game Preview: Ad Fontes Academy Falcons vs. Fairfax Christian Cardinals

The Ad Fontes Academy Falcons will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Fairfax Christian Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Ad Fontes Academy is looking for their season's first win.

Last Tuesday, Ad Fontes Academy was beaten by Wakefield School 77-26.

Fairfax Christian's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue on Tuesday. Fairfax Christian managed a 70-64 victory over Riverdale Baptist. The 70-point effort marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Fairfax Christian's win came from a few key players Ad Fontes Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Frank Siaca Bey, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Messiah Dixon, who posted nine points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

Fairfax Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Fairfax Christian moved to 4-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Ad Fontes Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Ad Fontes Academy took a serious blow against Fairfax Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 94-31. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ad Fontes Academy was down 58-24.
