Basketball Recap: DSST: College View Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

DSST: College View came tearing into Monday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Skyview Wolverines by a score of 43-30. The 43-point effort marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

DSST: College View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaias Tomita, who almost dropped a triple-double with ten rebounds, nine assists, and 11 steals. Tomita is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least seven every time he's taken the court this season. Craig Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Despite the defeat, Skyview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Robin Campos Laos posted ten points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Erick Rodriguez, who scored three points and five assists.

DSST: College View pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Skyview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Coming up, DSST: College View will be playing at home against Denver West at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Denver West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.5 points per game this season. As for Skyview, they have already played their next game, a 47-39 loss against Gateway on the 11th.
