Baseball Recap: Perris Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Perris took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Vista del Lago, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers never let the Ravens get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Jeremy Harper's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Perris is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Perris' win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Adan Perez, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Those three hits gave Perez a new career-high.

Perris was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Perris' victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-15. As for Vista del Lago, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
