Preview: Episcopal Knights vs. The Awty International Rams
Episcopal is 3-0 against The Awty International since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The pair will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Episcopal has eight straight victories, The Awty International has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Episcopal posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 53-28 margin over St. Stephen's Episcopal. Given Episcopal's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while St. Stephen's Episcopal is ranked 542nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The Awty International suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. Their tough 43-20 loss to St. Andrew's might stick with them for a while.
Episcopal pushed their record up to 21-4 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for The Awty International, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Episcopal against The Awty International when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 68-37 victory.
