Baseball Recap: Sleepy Eye Has No Trouble Against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop

Sleepy Eye won the last time they faced Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Indians were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Thunderbirds. The matchup marked the Indians' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The result came thanks to Kayden Klein's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Cody Schultz was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Strong, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Sleepy Eye has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
