Basketball Recap: Bernalillo Comes Up Short

Bernalillo suffered their biggest loss since February 13, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt an 80-45 defeat at the hands of the Grants Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered against the Pirates since December 13, 2016.

This is the second loss in a row for Bernalillo and nudges their season record down to 8-10. As for Grants, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bernalillo will welcome Hope Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hope Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches. As for Grants, they will host Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grants knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Valencia likes a good challenge.
