Petoskey is 9-1 against Gaylord since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Petoskey Northmen will host the Gaylord Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Petoskey took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past St. Francis 66-29. Given the Northmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Gladiators are ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gaylord). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat St.Ignace 89-40. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Gaylord is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Petoskey, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Petoskey came up short against Gaylord in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 48-38. Thankfully for Petoskey, Luke Gelow (who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
