Basketball Recap: Bethel Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Barrow, Bethel was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Nelson Island Islanders by a score of 41-28.

Nelson Island's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kelsey Angaiak, who posted 14 points. That was a full 50% of Nelson Island's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Acelyn Moses, who earned six points.

Bethel's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Nelson Island, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Bethel has already played their next game, a 41-31 defeat against Seward on the 6th. As for Nelson Island, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-49 win against Aniak on the 7th.
