Recap: Spring Mountain Eagles vs. Sandy Valley Sidewinders
The Spring Mountain Eagles's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 54-48 victory over Sandy Valley. This was payback for Spring Mountain, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Sandy Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tage Colon, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds, and Damion Turner who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds. Colon scored a full 35.4% of Sandy Valley's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Phaethon Pena was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
Spring Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Sandy Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring Mountain's road trip will continue as they head out to face Beaver Dam at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. As for Sandy Valley, they will square off against Baker at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
