Recap: Westfield Bulldogs vs. South Lakes Seahawks
It was a good run, but The Westfield Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to South Lakes 28-24. Westfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Lakes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
South Lakes was led to victory by James Zschunke and Nick Harris. Zschunke picked up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Harris threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns.
Westfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for South Lakes, their victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0.
Westfield will head out on the road to face off against Washington-Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington-Liberty is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for South Lakes, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Yorktown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yorktown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 118th, while South Lakes is ranked ninth).
