Volleyball Recap: Irvington Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

Irvington Preparatory Academy lost against North Putnam back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Irvington Preparatory Academy fell 2-0 to North Putnam. The contest marked the first time this year in which Irvington Preparatory Academy was not able to get on the board.

James Norton paced Irvington Preparatory Academy's offense, picking up two kills. Norton got some help from Jason Norton and his four assists. Marek Torzewski controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

North Putnam found their leader in sophomore Xavier Ali, who had ten digs and one assist. Brayton Hecht also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Irvington Preparatory Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for North Putnam, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-4.

Irvington Preparatory Academy has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Harrison on the 5th. As for North Putnam, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against DeKalb on the 5th.
