Recap: Glenbard South Raiders vs. Elgin Maroons
The Glenbard South Raiders won the last time they faced the Elgin Maroons, and things went their way on Friday too. Glenbard South breezed by Elgin on the road to the tune of 47-14. The result was nothing new for Glenbard South, who have now won seven contests by 33 points or more so far this season.
Glenbard South was led to victory by Cam Williams and Michael Champagne. Williams gained 104 total yards and two touchdowns, while Champagne rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Williams was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards.
When it comes to explaining why Elgin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lamyni Spates. Despite the final result, he gained 92 total yards and a touchdown.
Glenbard South's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Elgin, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Glenbard South will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against The Noble Academy at 6:00 p.m. on October 27th. The Noble Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while Glenbard South is ranked 139th). Elgin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
