Soccer Game Preview: Manteno vs. Lisle

The Manteno Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Lisle Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manteno's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Manteno is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Chicago Christian just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Lisle was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They fell just short of St. Francis by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Lisle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 360th, while St. Francis are ranked 146th).

Manteno's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5-2. As for Lisle, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything went Manteno's way against Lisle in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Manteno made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
