Baseball Recap: Sonora's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Sonora had to endure a 14-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Orestimba Warriors with a sharp 15-6 win on Wednesday. The Wildcats' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Cameron Pousard looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Tanner Navarro was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Dallas Latin, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Sonora always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Sonora's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Orestimba, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Sonora will have a chance to go back-to-back against Orestimba: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
