Football Recap: Coral Springs Comes Up Short

Coral Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 35-12 to the Stoneman Douglas Eagles. If the Colts were looking for revenge after losing 33-13 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Valinteno Mathieu threw for 34 yards on seven of 14 attempts. On the ground, McKendrick Thomas rushed for 26 yards.

Coral Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Stoneman Douglas, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coral Springs will challenge Fort Lauderdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Colts will be up against the Flying L's rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.43 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Stoneman Douglas, they will take on Coral Springs Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
