Softball Recap: Glencoe Takes Down Ranked Forest Grove

Glencoe faced Forest Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Crimson Tide came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vikings, sneaking past 1-0. Give the Crimson Tide's pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Ally Meyer was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Glencoe has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Forest Grove, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7.

Glencoe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Forest Grove, they will challenge West Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
