Baseball Recap: Liberty Common Takes a Loss

After flying high against Valley last Monday, Liberty Common came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Platte Valley Broncos on Wednesday, falling 19-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 16-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Teagan Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bowyn Caudill, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Liberty Common has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Platte Valley, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Liberty Common is set to take on their familiar foe Weld Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Platte Valley will challenge rival Fort Morgan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
