Basketball Recap: Yates Center Takes a Loss

Yates Center fought the good fight in their overtime game against Altoona-Midway on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Altoona-Midway Jets. The Wildcats have struggled against the Jets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

It was another big night for William Stackhouse, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards for Altoona-Midway. Stackhouse has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 27 times he's played. Kieran Foster was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Yates Center's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Altoona-Midway, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yates Center will face off against Chetopa on Tuesday. Yates Center is facing Chetopa at the right time seeing as Chetopa is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Altoona-Midway, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Southern Coffey County at 5:00 p.m. Altoona-Midway is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.
