Softball Recap: Millville Falls Short Against Ranked Ocean City

Millville faced Ocean City in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Thunderbolts fell 11-7 to the Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunderbolts of the 11-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Kendall Mazur and Jaslene Negron stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mazur went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Negron scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Negron also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Millville now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Ocean City, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millville will square off against Vineland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ocean City, they will head out to challenge St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
