Volleyball Preview: Hemet Bulldogs vs. Hillcrest Trojans
The Hemet Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Hillcrest Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Thursday, Hemet didn't have quite enough to beat Poly and fell 3-2. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hemet took Poly into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-17, 16-26, 25-11, 15-6.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged the Eagles out 3-2.
Hemet's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Hillcrest, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Hemet took their victory against Hillcrest when the teams last played back in November of 2015 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hemet since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
