Softball Game Preview: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Alhambra Lions

The Mountain Pointe Pride will face off against the Alhambra Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Pointe is looking for their season's first win.

Friday just wasn't the day for Mountain Pointe's offense. They lost 18-0 to Arizona College Prep on Friday.

Meanwhile, Alhambra also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against McClintock on Friday, falling 16-0. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

Emelie Bello made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one double. Another player making a difference was Alondra Mercado, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Mountain Pointe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Alhambra, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Everything went Mountain Pointe's way against Alhambra in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Mountain Pointe made off with a 20-1 victory. Will the Pride repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
