Owensboro hadn't done well against Apollo recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Red Devils won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Owensboro's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Apollo, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Looking ahead, Owensboro will take on Hancock County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Hornets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Apollo, they are taking a road trip to take on Evansville Mater Dei at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
