Preview: Forest Park Bruins vs. Hylton Bulldogs
The Forest Park Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Hylton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hylton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Forest Park, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Forest Park never let their opponents score. They took down Charles J. Colgan 17-0.
Forest Park got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Shulsky out in front who threw for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Landon Hunt and his 126 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Forest Park's win.
Meanwhile, Hylton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Freedom, falling 73-0. While losing is never fun, Hylton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Freedom is ranked fourth).
Forest Park now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hylton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6.
Forest Park strolled past Hylton when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a score of 37-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forest Park since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
