Baseball Recap: Carthage Comes Up Short

If Carthage was riding high fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Henderson on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Lions by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 8-0.

Carthage has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12-1 record this season. As for Henderson, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carthage will welcome Kilgore at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Henderson, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cumberland Academy at 7:00 p.m. The Lions are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
