Preview: Rim of the World Fighting Scots vs. Bloomington Bruins
The Rim of the World Fighting Scots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bloomington Bruins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Rim of the World got the win against San Gorgonio by a conclusive 50-29. 50 seems to be a good number for Rim of the World as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Rim of the World's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nikolai Carbaugh led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Carbaugh has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Urquiza, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Bloomington beat Rubidoux 64-51 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bloomington.
Rim of the World has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Bloomington, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.
Everything went Rim of the World's way against Bloomington when the teams last played back in February as Rim of the World made off with a 56-36 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Bloomington's David Barajas, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Rim of the World to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
