Volleyball Recap: Flinthills Falls Short of Goessel in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Flinthills can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Goessel Bluebirds on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Bluebirds: they've now lost four in a row.

Flinthills was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22.

Charli Bohnen paced Flinthills' offense, picking up seven kills. Bohnen got some help from Rylee Randall and her nine assists. Randall was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Flinthills' defeat dropped their record down to 26-12. As for Goessel, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-10 record this season.

Flinthills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Goessel, they will head out on the road to challenge Centralia at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
