Basketball Preview: North Broward Prep Eagles vs. Dreyfoos School of the Arts Jaguars
The North Broward Prep Eagles will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
North Broward Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Ferguson as North Broward Prep made off with a 84-58 win. North Broward Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Raul Perez ruiz, who scored 22 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games he's played. Francesco Borio was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Dreyfoos School of the Arts was able to grind out a solid win over the Giants on Wednesday, taking the game 69-56.
Tyson Jimerson and Zidane Guerrier were among the main playmakers for Dreyfoos School of the Arts as the former dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds and the latter scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jimerson has scored at least a third of Dreyfoos School of the Arts' points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Griffin, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
North Broward Prep has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which somehow isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: North Broward Prep have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Dreyfoos School of the Arts struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
