Softball Recap: North Caddo Takes a Loss

If North Caddo was feeling good fresh off their 22-1 takedown of Mansfield on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans fell just short of the North Webster Knights by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 18-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Nataleigh Ball was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Ball wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Garner, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

North Caddo's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8. As for North Webster, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-7.

Looking ahead, North Caddo will face off against Haynesville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Webster, they will square off against Minden at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
