Baseball Game Preview: Dunlap Eagles vs. East Peoria Raiders

Dunlap has won three straight games at home, while East Peoria has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Eagles will host the Raiders at 4:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Dunlap 2.7, East Peoria 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Saturday, Dunlap was able to grind out a solid win over Ottawa, taking the game 9-5.

Davis Weeks was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Dietz, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, East Peoria sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Olympia on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Dunlap is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for East Peoria, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Dunlap beat East Peoria 8-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
