Volleyball Recap: Cottondale's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cottondale had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Holmes County on Tuesday. The Hornets put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on three straight.

While Cottondale might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Holmes County scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 26-24.

Taliah Peterson paced Cottondale's offense, picking up 15 kills. Peterson got some help from Anna Claire Speers and her 27 assists. Speers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Cottondale's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Holmes County, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Cottondale will welcome Wewahitchka at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holmes County, they will be taking part in a tournament against Arnold at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
