Preview: Larue County Hawks vs. Hart County Raiders
Larue County is 9-1 against Hart County since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Larue County Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Hart County Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Larue County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,176 points over their last 17 games.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact Larue County proved on Monday. They walked away with a 63-52 victory over Campbellsville. Given Larue County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Campbellsville is ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Daniel Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. He hasn't dropped below 15points for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Blakey, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, even though Monroe County scored an imposing 68 points on Monday, Hart County still came out on top. Hart County snuck past Monroe County with a 72-68 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hart County.
Larue County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Hart County, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Larue County came up short against Hart County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 66-57. Can Larue County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
