Belmont had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Yazoo County Panthers on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

The team relied heavily on Brilei Dees, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Maylie Holt, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Belmont's record now sits at 21-7-1. As for Yazoo County, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 18-11-1.

Coming up, Belmont will square off against Alcorn Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Bears have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. Yazoo County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
