Soccer Game Preview: Centennial vs. Dunwoody

The Centennial Knights will head out to square off against the Dunwoody Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial has given up an average of 5 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Centennial fell victim to Blessed Trinity and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Titans. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Blessed Trinity are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Dunwoody entered their tilt with Alpharetta on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 3-1.

Dunwoody pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three contests. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Centennial suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Dunwoody in their previous meeting back in March of 2020. Can Centennial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
