Baseball Recap: Ralston Comes Up Short

Ralston fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Hastings on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Bryson Sargent was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Ralston's record is now 5-3. As for Hastings, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ralston will take on Wahoo/Bishop Neumann at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hastings, they will challenge Elkhorn North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Elkhorn North's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Hastings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
