Softball Recap: Dixie County Comes Up Short

Dixie County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 18-7 to the Union County Fightin' Tigers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Tearra Collins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hadlee Hines, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Dixie County's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Union County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixie County will venture away from home to challenge Hamilton County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hamilton County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something Dixie County will no doubt try to take advantage of. Union County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on P.K. Yonge at 7:00 p.m. on April 1st.
