League recap: Mercy Vocational lifted by Mitchell's performance at the plate

Penn-Jersey league recap: 5/7/12

Chris Mitchell was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a 1.000 average, one home run and five RBIs. His Mercy Vocational team went 3-0.

After a week in which it went 2-0, Life Center Academy jumped from 503 to 270 in the national rankings, the biggest increase in the league.

Life Center Academy's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing two hits and one walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, Life Center Academy has allowed just 59 hits, while striking out 65 batters. Adam Lagrange leads Life Center Academy with 23 strikeouts in 25 innings.

Life Center Academy stole 15 bases this week, adding to its league-leading 60 steals on the year.



Chris Mitchell went 4-4 as Mercy Vocational defeated United Christian Academy 14-2 on May 3, 2012. He rounded out his day with five runs batted in and two runs scored.

John Trotman drove in six runners as Life Center Academy defeated Doane Academy 11-0 on May 1, 2012.
