Soccer Game Preview: United vs. Springfield

United is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Springfield is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Golden Eagles will host the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

United's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Rootstown 4-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for United considering their one-goal performance the match before.

They hit Rootstown with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ellianna Powers (2), Kiley Hetherington, and Natalie Shipley.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Springfield made sure to put some goals up on the board against LaBrae on Monday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 7-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Springfield's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 206th, while LaBrae are ranked 511th).

United's win bumped their record up to 8-6-2. As for Springfield, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3-1.
